Young people, especially women, in the maritime and coastal areas are in top gear with huge expectations for the actualization of the commitment made by the Secretary-General of the Maritime Organization of West Africa (MOWCA) in the area of providing scholarships and job opportunities, along with other assistance to those in remote communities in Sierra Leone.
The Secretary-General of MOWCA, Adalikwu, was speaking with the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mamadi Gobeh Kamara, at her Tower Hill office before the organization engaged with the minister and other players in the transport and aviation industry on transport and maritime safety and security in the country.
The deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Mamadi Gobeh Kamara, on behalf of young people in Sierra Leone, thanked the team for their promised humanitarian gesture extended to the nation to support the transport and maritime sector. She described their visit, particularly their area of intervention (safety and maritime security), as timely, calling on the Secretary-General to also consider intervening in areas that need support and improvement that would benefit the country and the organization.
